
Hampton Mallis is a Principal in the Firm’s Atlanta Tax Practice. With over 17 years in public accounting, Mr. Mallis has diverse experience in providing income tax planning, income tax compliance, and business consulting services to individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
Mr. Mallis concentrates in the area of real estate, providing tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to developers, owners, syndicators, managers and funds in the multifamily housing, affordable housing, commercial real estate, and hospitality industries. Other focus areas include structuring tax transactions and consulting related to tax saving strategies. He has tax and business experience with partnerships, LLC’s, corporations, S-corporations, and high net worth individuals. He consults with clients on rules related to passive activities and real estate professionals. Hampton also has successfully represented clients before the IRS and state authorities for tax notices, tax and business audits and the appeals process. His clients include publicly-held Fortune 100 companies, non-profit housing organizations, and experienced real estate developers owners, and managers across the United States.
In addition, Mr. Mallis advises clients in Section 42 Low-Income Housing Credits, Section 47 Rehabilitation Tax Credits, Section 48 Energy Credits, New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) and Historic Tax Credits. He is involved with the tax review of low-income tax credit cost certifications and ten percent reports and historic cost certifications.
Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Mr. Mallis was a Supervisor for seven years at a mid-size Atlanta accounting firm where he specialized in providing income tax compliance and planning services to individuals, partnerships, and closely-held and publicly-held corporations.
