John R. Kovacs, Thames Street Development, LLC

Mr. Kovacs is the Managing Partner of Thames Street Development LLC, a Baltimore  based Real Estate Development and Advisory Firm. The Real Estate Development activities  are focused on mixed-use, urban development projects, with an emphasis on Historic  Rehab Projects utilizing Historic and New Market Tax Credits. The Firm also specializes in providing Advisory Services for Restructuring Real Estate Projects and Loans, Managing Real Estate Assets to maximize value, Accounting, Tax and Compliance Reporting for Projects. Mr. Kovacs has more than thirty years of progressive and direct experience in the financial and real estate markets.

 Mr. Kovacs was formerly Chief Financial Officer for Struever Bros., Eccles and Rouse,  a national Real Estate Development and Construction Firm specializing in Urban  Renewal and Redevelopment. Mr. Kovacs responsibilities included overall  management of the Company’s capital structure and financial position, maintaining  and expanding the company’s relationships with institutional investors and  negotiating joint venture agreements with operating and investment partners. His  duties also include securing acquisitions, construction, and permanent financing for  the company’s real estate development projects.

 He was formerly Senior Vice President and General Manager, Regional Operations for Kajima Construction Services, a subsidiary of Kajima Corporation. There he developed strategic relationships with Fortune 500 companies, establishing national contracts and preferred contractor status. Mr. Kovacs also held management positions with Research-Cottrell, Price Waterhouse & Co. and American International Group. Mr. Kovacs earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Bridgeport and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Connecticut.
