
As Chief Investment Officer of Waveland Ventures, Paul is responsible for originating, structuring and managing a portfolio comprised of several tax credit based investment funds. These funds represent an aggregate of private equity and commercial real estate transactions that total over $1 billion. The commercial real estate component is driven by the Federal New Markets Tax Credit program from which Waveland has directly received $185 million in allocations. It also is an investment manager for multiple other allocatees that represent $495 million in NMTC allocation.
Prior to joining Waveland Ventures, Paul was the Managing Director of Operon Partners, LLC where he managed the investment of capital and services into early stage technology companies. From 1994-1999, Paul served as a Director of Ventures in the Office of the President of GE Capital and made investments on behalf of GE Equity – the venture-funding arm of General Electric. Before joining GE Capital, Paul worked at GE Information Services (GEIS) from 1992-1994. He served as a Director, Business Development, for Genie – the pioneering consumer online service – where he was responsible for bringing financial services applications to the service and as an Electronic Commerce Business Development Manager in the healthcare industry. From 1991 to 1992 Paul was in sales and market development for Sterling Commerce (acquired by SBC). From 1989 – 1991 Paul worked in sales and marketing roles for software startup EDI, Inc. Paul has degrees in Accounting and English from Villanova University and lives in Milwaukee, WI.
