
Robert Poznanski is a Vice President at the National Equity Fund, Inc., and has managed the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) activities of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) since it received its first NMTC award in 2003. LISC NMTC’s awards now total $693 million, and it has used them to finance 56 high-impact community development transactions. These transactions are projected to create nearly 7 million square feet of commercial and community space, over 250 units of housing, and 16,000 jobs.
From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Poznanski served as a Program Director (and later Senior Program Director) for LISC’s Rural Program, providing financing and technical assistance to community development corporations (CDCs) in rural communities in the Midwest. He joined LISC in 1993 as a Program Officer for the Kalamazoo LISC program, assisting CDCs in that community.
Prior to LISC, Mr. Poznanski worked as a development consultant and as an attorney for Michigan Legal Services. He also taught Community Economic Development Law at the University of Michigan Law School and supervised law students in its Program for Legal Assistance to Urban Communities.
Mr. Poznanski educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College.
