Local Food Bank Gets a Deposit from Reznick Group's Tysons Corner Office

On November 20, 2009, Reznick Group’s Tysons Corner office collected and donated 130 pounds of food, prepared roughly 500 Thanksgiving baskets and worked for the day at Food for Others, the largest distributor of free food in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

As part of the volunteer effort, Tysons Corner staffers volunteered to drive so that the office could make a monetary donation to the food bank in lieu of transportation costs.  In addition, staff

  1. Filled bags for the Dept. of Agriculture distribution center,
  2. Put together emergency food boxes,
  3. Stocked shelves with incoming donations, and
  4. Stuffed/stamped envelopes for mass mailings.

Food for Others is Northern Virginia’s primary safety net for those needing food when an emergency strikes, and for the growing number of working poor who are unable to make ends meet and need to supplement their inadequate food supplies.   Its mission is to obtain and distribute free food to the hungry of Northern Virginia and to support food programs of other community-based organizations.
