On May 13, 2010 more than 150 employees from accounting, tax and business advisory firm Reznick Group taught students at four Washington, DC elementary schools about saving, budgeting and other aspects of financial literacy through Junior Achievement’s JA in a Day initiative. JA in a Day is a unique program that allows volunteers to teach all of the units of Junior Achievement’s (JA) seven elementary school programs in an intensive one-day experience. Reznick Group has participated since 2007.
According to research conducted by JA Worldwide, one-in-ten teens, some as young as 13, have access to credit cards. During the course of JA in a Day, students learn about the responsible use of credit, as well as other aspects of financial literacy, including saving, banking and budgeting.
