Boone Named to Charlotte Business Journal's 40 under 40

Melissa BooneMelissa Boone, an audit principal in Reznick Group’s Charlotte office, has been named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Class of 2011. Established 18 years ago, the 40 Under 40 Awards are presented by the Charlotte Business Journal to individuals who are recognized for their professional achievements as well as the positive impact they are making on their communities. According to the Charlotte Business Journal, this honor places Boone among Charlotte’s best and brightest young business leaders.

About Boone
Melissa Boone has more than thirteen years of public accounting experience including audit, accounting, tax, cost certification and other relevant accounting services. Her responsibilities at Reznick Group include the planning and audit program development of all assigned audit engagements. She is also charged with coordination of the overall audit schedule and final review of deliverables. Additionally, Boone works closely with the audit staff providing guidance, feedback, and assistance with all aspects of the engagements performed by the office.

Because of her extensive audit and accounting experience, Boone has helped numerous Reznick Group clients improve operations and efficiency while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and standards. She regularly speaks to audiences on topics ranging from nonprofit accounting to asset management.

Boone currently serves as a board member and finance/audit committee member with the Health Guidance Center, and is also a board member and chair of the audit committee for Community Link.  In May, 2011 she will graduate from the Arts and Science Council’s Cultural Leadership Training Program.
